Izakaya @ Musha - we keep on revisiting this place which serves delicious Japanese tapas, their dishes are quite unique and we always enjoy washing the food down with a chilled glass of Asahi or Sapporo.
Squid sashimi with spicy pollock caviar…..
3 vegetables combo, burdock root & carrots(front)…..
Seaweed (front), boiled spinach (middle)…..
Ponzu duck, ponzu marinated & sliced duck breast…..
Tuna poki, Hawaiian style tuna and seaweed tossed with chopped wasabi…..
Musha Fried Chicken, chicken marinated with soy sauce, sake, ginger & garlic, served with two kinds of grated daikon radish & ponzu sauce…..
Aburi Saba, vinegar marinated fresh mackerel, sliced and then torched at the table…..
Almost well done and ready to go…..
Glazed sea eel, Hijiki seaweed & Mitsuba leaf mixed rice, grilled inside a hot stone bowl…..
We were so stuffed after finishing the rice course and have no desire to have dessert. Maybe we should have ordered one less dish to make room for dessert. Well then, see you again next time, Musha!

The portions are so small! I’m afraid my Ohio background is crying out in protest- me want more food, more food!
Really, I think you must be eating like this every day. Wonderful pics as always and the price seems reasonable.
Btw – I am having great difficulty trying to picture you and W having Kraft Macaroni and Cheese at home.
This is a restaurant that does simple dishes really well. Always worth a visit, or a re-visit as the case may be.
Nice photos. I love the menu. Very cool
@secade - I guess you are more of a steak n’ potato person?
@ElusiveWords - Matt, we do sneak in a bowl of instant ramen once in a long while!
@christao408 - Yes, we should go again on your next visit to LA! But again, there are a few other places I want to bring you too!
@oxyGENE_08 - Thanks, Gene! I think you’ll like the rice dishes as well!
@CurryPuffy - RICE!!! lol
A sizzling food porn.
i love japanese cuisine, especially when it comes to their RICE. the best rice i’ve ever tasted. judging from the pic, that’s exactly what you got. typical japanese short grain rice, sweet and plump to the bite. and i wouldn’t mind gulping down that mackerel and ume tea either. YUM.
@ZSA_MD - Thank you, Zakiah! The rice dish was sizzling indeed!
@rudyhou - Rudy, you have a very good food sense! I wish I could hire you to write in my descriptions!
@CurryPuffy - no need. simply take me out for lunch or dinner and i’ll one happy camper. i’m cheap that way
