that first pic!!!
So beautiful Gary! Where did you stay?
I absolutely love this. I am glad I can escape some of the pressures of work by reading your blog and enjoying the pictures.
That’s beautiful. Yes, where did you stay. It’s time for a Bali trip.
How beautiful — what a life!
amazing! now i definitely have to go there.
@CaKaLusa - Vantage point!
@christao408 - @beowulf222 - Stayed at the Four Seasons Sayan in the Ubud area, more like a forest area with rivers running through the resorts. Beautiful scenery and nice people too!
@ElusiveWords - Thanks Matt! I’m glad I can help to provide you some pleasure. Stayed tuned, more to come!
@slmret - Haha~This is my once a year splurge on overseas trips. Have to wait another year now…..
@liloloveslilies - You should go…..and you are only a few hours away from all these beautiful places. So lucky!
i havent been to bali since I graduate highschool 15 yrs ago. I should make my way there, I heard the place is now is so luxury.
lovely……hope it will be a nice place for people like me..going alone…
wow, such a beautiful country! that first picture, in particular, is amazing. i never even thought to visit it before, but it has definitely been added to the list of places to see some day… and here i thought i was actually going to shorten my travel list by one — heading out to a conference in venice soon!
You really do post some of the most beautiful pictures here on Xanga! Thanks so much for sharing. Bali looks so gorgeous!!!^_^ That’s great that you got to go there.
Nice vacation photos. Wish I was there sipping those multi-flavoured coffees.
@vsan79 - Bali is still beautiful (my last visit was in 2004), but the streets now are so congested with motorcycles and automobiles!
@agmhkg - You’ll enjoy going solo too, I encountered quite a number of spas all over Ubud. Also, art galleries and shops are plentiful too. You may have a tough time choosing what to do in the first few days! Gosh, W and I wish we could stay there for a least a week!
@kunhuo42 - I’m glad the photos came out fine. I wish I could fly out to an exotic place like Venice too! Have a good trip!
@making_a_comeback_05 - Thank you, I’m glad you like them! There are quite a number of good spots for taking photos in Bali indeed!
@brooklyn2028 - LOL. Sheldon, the local coffee have that exotic taste too. Would you believe I found a huge Starbucks branch at the airport?
great shots. correction: that Kopi Luwak is NOT made from the poop of the local civats. the civats eat coffee berries but their stomach can’t digest the coffee beans, thus when they poop the coffee beans still remain intact. the coffee beans then to be removed, cleaned, dried, and then roasted. i’m not a big fan of this coffee for the flavor is much milder than other coffee varieties, while the price triples that of a regular coffee.
@rudyhou - Hehe~Yes, that’s right, not from their poop but from the undigested beans. I got a chance to visit these cats too, but they were taking afternoon naps.
@CurryPuffy - they always do. as they eat when it gets dark and no one’s around.
sooo beautiful. rice patties are so serene and vivid
Nice photos! Anyway, you’re always in Asia but never in the PI? hehe
@iskrak - Yes indeed, minus the hordes of tourists jousting to take photos at the vantage spot!
@oxyGENE_08 - Gene, we almost went to Boracay. But could not plan out the transit timing since the trip would need an overnight stay in Manila, and then fly over to another city near Boracay, and then arrange a boat pickup by the resort. We need to have more vacation days next time! I guess you’re in Manila, right?
@CurryPuffy - Yes I am. There are direct flights from HK – KLO (Kalibo Intl Airport) via Cebu Pacific so you won’t need to fly to Manila then fly to KLO or MPH (Caticlan).
But maybe you should drop by Manila too so I can meet you. hehe
@CurryPuffy - & Boracay might be TOO CROWDED at this point for your liking.
This is the green that I think about day in and day out Gary. This is what the green at home in India looked like, the rice fields and the women in their colorful saris working in them.
When I went to Bali one year, I couldn’t believe how lush and beautiful it was, and how much it reminded me of home. Thanks for posting these pictures Gary. Love them.
@ZSA_MD - oh, that’s a very pretty scene with the colourful saris in the rice fields!
Those are such beautiful photos – it looks like you found the perfect hideaway.
@mizz_chan - Bali is such a beautiful hideaway indeed! I’m still dreaming about returning soon!
Looks awesome.
@yang1815 - Very scenic indeed! Do come to Bali!
