Song of the Day
下一站。澳門!
人生的場景就僅是匆匆而過…
有時往回頭看, 也許現在的自己也會認不出以前的自己?
HONG KONG (Final Act) – Macau – Mom got a surprise installed for us during our last days of the trip. She bought us show tickets to the House of Dancing Water and a one night stay at the Venetian Hotel. I’ll always welcome all inclusive free trips! We started early in the morning leaving by turbo-jet, which took a little bit less than two hours arriving into Macau. After settling down into our hotel room, we headed out and munched at one of the highly acclaimed old-time Macau restaurants, near the downtown business district…
Lunch was ox tail stew and vegetables….
Found a chicken foot in my bowl of rice porridge. Roast chicken and potatoes (background). The lunch was really not that good at all…..
Afterwards, we wandered around the city, snapping up photos of touristy spots…..

The stunning facade of the new Casino Lisboa…..

Found a small cafe to rest our feet…..

We continued onto the crowded alleys with snack stores selling the local delicacies…..

Yum….all sorts of dried meat…pork and beef jerky…..

Approaching the Ruins of St. Paul, there are so many snack shops along the way…..

Later on the night, we arrived at the Dancing Water Theatre…..

The stage has a retractable cover, concealing the huge pool underneath…..

Taken on the morning of departure, view from our room, apparently there are other developments underway nearby….

Our last supper back in Hong Kong, Agnes b Le Pain Grille on Leighton Road. It was b’s last few weeks at this location, as the restaurant is going to relocate around the SOHO district…..

(It was a tiring but enjoyable trip so far. Thanks W for most of the fabulous photos in this entry. The lighting was less than ideal but the photos came out great afterall!)

I was reading the Chinese… and was only about to pronounce1/3 in Canto and 1/3 in Mandarin.
I’ve never been to Macau… but pictures from the Dancing Water Theatres looks spectacular…
After your entry, Macau is definitely a place I want to visit.
@Devilzgaysianboi - Sounds good, that’s two out of three! Macau has transformed into a mini-Las Vegas during the last couple of years!
Kevin’s Chinese is a lot better than mine. I had no idea Macau looks like this now. Does W have a food blog? He should if he doesn’t.
@ElusiveWords - W only likes to nom nom and snap food photos, I’m sure he’ll be a good writer if he puts on his writer’s hat.
WOW! What a fabulous trip Gary! The Dancing Water Theater looks phenomenal. Except for the chicken foot in your soup or food, the entire food porn was worth the wait Gary. I loved it. Thank you.
@ZSA_MD - Thank you and I apologize for being so lazy updating lately! If you are near Hong Kong on your next trip, do stop by Macau and visit the casinos.
Great shots! Did you get a new camera?
@CareyGLY - Thanks Carey! Most of the photos were shot by W’s Canon 50D. My little pocket camera did not do too well that day.
i always like your photos
@cheuk_cheuk426 - Thanks Cheuk Cheuk! Long time no see!

@lcfu - Do you mean you’re having technical difficulties viewing the photos? We had a Portugese dinner but it was just so so, therefore did not post those photos. :p
Macau is a nice day trip attraction of HK. Last time I stayed there overnight was when my dad took us there when we were little. It is time for me to consider staying in some of the new hotel. Those food pictures are super beautiful. Thanks, W! The water show maybe a good place to take my mom when I visit HK later this year. I think your mom rocks as she gave you and W show tickets and hotel reservation. Nice!
@stevew918 - Thanks Steve! Spending over night or even a few days in Macau is worth it. The Venetian is totally a replica from the one in Las Vegas! When are you visiting HK? Christmas?
i mean typical 葡菜
