Song of the Day
那天…忽然在夢裡看見你…
那些逝去的…淡去的曾經…
什麼時候…能得到救贖?
Curry69Curry has become CuffyPuffy. It has been almost three years since I started in Xanga, therefore, a minor ‘refreshment’ was also carried out on the layout scheme. I found out eventually that the changes were hardly noticeable. Sigh.
Time flies, almost a month had passed by since my last entry. What have I accomplished during my non-blogging days? Nothing I guess, I have not even finished my Summer reading, how lame!! Let me see……..I have been torn between different projects at work and personal chores, and then I went shopping almost every weekend, looking for Summer tees and cooking utensils (pots & pans). Back to the subject of food, I’m happy to report that I have been eating quite a few brunches lately. So, the following will mostly concentrate on breakfast food, these are pretty simple and popular dishes which can be prepared at home. Of course, you need the proper ingredients and cooking utensils.
Three Squares Cafe in Venice, the vibe here is definitely upper Bohemian with a stylish and casual atmosphere. Their bakery shop next door has delicious pretzel bread. Their coffee is made from freshly grinded German coffee beans…
German Apple Pancake, with baked apples and cinnamon inside…
Ham Quiche, Smoked Salmon and Poached Eggs on Spring Salad Mix…
French Toast with Summer Peaches…
Brunch at MiPiace in OldTown Pasadena – Smoothie with Orange Juice and Vanilla Powder…
Eggs over Pan Fried Duck Hash…
Bread Bar in Century City – French Toast / Tour De France Pain De Mie Loaf, with Maple Syrup, Berries, and Whipped Cream…
Back home, W did a little baking, it was a mixture of baking powder, milk, butter, cheese and a dash of green onions…
Then, these ‘muffins’ are split apart, followed by Spring Mix Salad, Smoked Salmon and a dash of creamy butter…
Ready to serve along side with Summer Fruit Sangria…
Yum! Absolutely delicious and the Sangria is definitely not too intoxicating as a morning drink.

I love sangria…
Ah … the good “brunch” life!
so, no more 69? sad… I thought it was odd yesterday because I cannot access your site at all – asking me to sign in to something – but I am already signing in – xanga is really getting old – I think it might just die soon.
Now, I want some duck hash – what’s in it? duck+potato?
that pancake looks amazing, now i want to replicate it!
what was the dipping sauce for the breakfast potatoes (pls dont say ketchup lol id feel so dumb!) ?
I always get the impression you eat like this everyday (well maybe you do). What books are you reading?
@Wangium -
Any particular Sangria flavors you prefer?
@TheLatinObserver -
I have a weak spot for French Toasts, Crepes, Belgian Waffles, etc that’s anything sweet and fruity. LOL

The duck hash has pan fried duck meat and potatoes, I found the dish rather dry as it is, adding some savory sauces would be great! As for the ’69′ part, I’m reluctant to let that go too, but since someone from Xanga suggested the “puffy’ which is more appropriate with my Cantonese nickname, I suppose a change will be okay? Oh yes, I think the Xanga team needs a few more updates to the existing platform, such as adding Flickr access, etc.

Haha Matt~I only eat like this in the weekends, so much so I can slowly enjoy the meal and do some people watching! As for summer reading, I’m on this “Not Quite The Diplomat” by Chris Patten (the last governor of Hong Kong). This memoir documents his last days as Governor as well as his political views, etc. Highly recommended!
@tdalch -
Your guess is right! LOL…The pancake has sliced n’ baked apples in the bottom, texture is puffy, similar to a sponge cake.
There is more than 1 flavor?
Patten’s book sounds interesting. I’ll have to check it out.
Any chance you can send me W’s recipe? Looks like a nice one to try out.
@CurryPuffy -
It shows lol …

I got the book in HK, the huge bookstore at the Paragon Mall may have it in stock as well. Also, Mr.Patten has a more recent book – “East and West”. As for the recipe, I’ll extract it from W on our next rendezvous.
peaches. Hairy fruit ought to be outlawed. It’s just wrong.
I noticed! Looks good! Though I wish the music wouldn’t start autmatically!

Who needs Yelp when I have Currypuffy!
hey…long time no see =p
glad you are still doing well over there
erm…guess i could enjoy the german pancake everyday sooner XD
@AppsScraps -
I guess there must be some reasons that you dislike hairy fruits? LOL
@CareyGLY -
Thanks Carey, I’m glad you like the refreshed design! I wish I had the time to post some of mine on Yelp. Are you on that too?
@lcfu -
Haha~ FuFu, I enjoyed reading your eblogger and your trip back from the Silk Road? Do drop by LA sometime and I can show you the German pancake!
I am, but I don’t have time either…and never started.
I realized that you have a name change, it’s good since I want to have mine changed as well…till I hv received enough xanga points….oooh…..I hv missed so many of your lovely food pics over the month of Aug….:P
I like the new name “Curry Puffy” and love the new song in the background. One of my favourite movies! I just watched it two days ago again!!
Oh, it costs me dearly to do the name change. Afterwards, I was thinking of another name but couldn’t afford to do so. Hence, CurryPuffy for now!

I’m glad you like me as a Puffy! Haha~they are such an adorable couple in the movie!
